Schneider has successfully and sustainably expanded its infrastructure. After a long planning phase, the most expensive single investment in a building at Schneider of 11 Mio. Euro has now been put into operation after three years of construction.

Since the beginning of the year, the striking 40-meter-long, 20-meter-deep, and 27.5-meter-high warehouse has been bustling with activity. On four transport aisles, the semi-finished parts are now fully automated, meaning without human intervention, moved to and from the four floors of the assembly departments by self-driving electric units and roller conveyors.

The company gains 30% more production space with this measure.

The storage area is inerted, meaning it is filled with a gas that prevents fires or explosions. The oxygen is displaced, and its content corresponds to that at 3,500 meters above sea level, higher than Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. In this atmosphere, even raw materials like wood, plastic, and cardboard cannot burn.

The warehouse has a total of 52,800 storage spaces for large loading units (L600xB400xH295mm) or 95,040 for small ones (L400xB300xH295). In one hour, 520 containers can now be stored and retrieved with four storage and retrieval machines. A significant gain in productivity and safety.

Additionally, a PV system with 262 modules is installed on the building, contributing to the energy needs of the automated small parts warehouse with a capacity of 100 kWp. This saves about 48 tons of CO2 emissions per year, equivalent to approximately 2,219 planted trees. Additionally, a new compressed air center with integrated oxygen reduction was built, which heats the automated small parts warehouse through a heat recovery system.

With this strategically sustainable investment, Schneider has laid the foundation for further sales growth in the coming years.
