Image photography

Write & Mark / Highlight

High-quality, authentic and inspiring: what defines us as a brand should also be felt in our image motifs. That’s why we follow uniform guidelines in the image photography’s sector.

Visual storytelling

Our image photographs all pursue one goal: they tell a story – be it of the architect who likes to ride his bike to promote sustainability. Or of the poet who likes to write down her thoughts in nature. With this authentic visual material, we support our storytelling approach, which brings our brand values to life.

Images with reportage character

Our motifs document what everyday life, work or places of inspiration look like for our brand ambassadors. We rely on reportage-style images: natural, authentic and spontaneous. Through this perspective, we let our target group get very close to the action.

Detail shots

An image series lives from different settings. In this way, we not only give an insight into the lives of our protagonists, but also put our products in the spotlight. These detail shots are part of the story and visually fit seamlessly into the narrative. In this way, a coherent series of photos can later be used to create varied layouts.

Playing with depth of field

Depth of field can be used to achieve very different effects in photography. Certain elements of the picture can be deliberately brought into focus and the viewer’s gaze can be actively guided. The result is exciting, atmospheric shots that bring liveliness and dynamism to a photo series.

Don’ts

Schneider also presents itself as authentic, true-to-life and likeable in image photography. This also means that there are certain image features that do not fit our image world. Among these are, for example, the following criteria:

Application examples

Preference is given to using entire photo series to illustrate a topic – this supports Schneider’s overarching storytelling approach. This can take place in the product catalogue as well as digitally on the website or in the form of an Instagram carousel. Expressive images can also be used as a stand-alone eye-catcher on a cover or online in the header area.

Makers Line

Rougher, darker and bolder: the Makers Line also sets its own accents in image photography.

The makers’ world

In Makers Line image photography, we dive into the world of young creatives who swim against the mainstream: we place their personality and their works in the spotlight – rough, authentic and up close.

Motivate & inspire with photos

The Makers Line encourages very consciously: let your creativity run free – everything is allowed! In image photography, we show what can come out of DIY art. Whether painted surfboards, decorated records or brightly coloured images with acrylic markers – in photography these works are aesthetically staged.

A look over the shoulder

Just as important as the finished works is the way to get there: in detailed shots we show the process behind the DIY works of our makers. On the one hand, this gives the target group the feeling that they can create these kinds of Art Pieces themselves. At the same time, we have the opportunity to show our products up close and in direct use.

The Makers-Line-Look

All images used in the communication of the Makers Line have a uniform look: slightly desaturated colours, a subtle blue cast and a delicate vignette. The correct settings for the Makers Line look can be found in the template file.

Don’ts

In order to maintain the uniformity of the image world, there are a few aspects that need to be taken into account. Certain colour moods or image situations are generally out of the question for the Makers Line in order to maintain a coherent whole in the brand communication.

Application Images

Comparable to the photo series for the “Write & Mark/Highlight” product area, the images are often used in coherent reports: for example in the product catalogue or on the website. This is how they best unfold their brand-strengthening effect.

Promotional pens

The image photography for the product segment of promotional writing instruments is based on the guidelines of “Write & Mark/Highlight”. All that is important you can find out further up this page.
