Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Baden-Württemberg awards Schneider with the second price for the electric bicycle scheme

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the German Association of Environmental Management (BAUM) awarded on 26 October 2012 in Mannheim the "cyclist friendly employers in Baden-Württemberg 2012".

The certificates and prizes were handed out to the winners by the head of the bicycle and pedestrian traffic, municipal transport concepts and citizen participation Unit, Arne Koerdt, and board member of the German Association of Environmental Management -Dieter Brübach. The electric bike rental campaign by Schneider was awarded with the second place. To provide all interested employees with free e-bikes, committing themselves to get to work at least 80 times a year by bicycle, convinced the jury.

The campaign forces a general rethinking is encouraged among employees to rather use environmentally friendly transportation and also do one's health a favor.

Dieter Brübach, head of the German Association of Environmental Management (BAUM) explained in his welcoming speech, why cycling is of great relevance especially for enterprises: "The use of the bicycles has many advantages for companies: it's unbeatably cost-saving, requires little (parking) space, emissionfree and thus eco-friendly and on top of all that it is good for the health of the employees. The winners of our prizes show the great benefit of the bicycle for both employers and employees and highlight the commitment and fun it brings for all participates."
