Schneider: Winner of the 16th German Sustainability Award

Schneider receives Europe's largest, most renowned, and coveted award for outstanding ecological and social sustainability efforts.

Great joy and a well-deserved sense of pride can be felt within the ranks of Schneider on October 31, 2023. This time, the company didn't just make it to the finals but can claim the internationally recognized 16th German Sustainability Award (DNP) in the Office Supplies / Promotional Materials category for 2024. With this achievement, Schneider joins the 100 leading companies in Germany driving transformation in the German economy.

The official presentation of the German Sustainability Award 2024 will take place on November 23, 2023, in Düsseldorf.

With the German Sustainability Award seal, Schneider can showcase its leading position in the industry and sustainability field to customers, the media, and stakeholders. The seal also receives significant attention abroad, as "Made in Germany" is a symbol of genuine sustainability and "Green Economy."

The award is presented by the German Sustainability Award Foundation in collaboration with the federal government, local government associations, business associations, civil society organizations, research institutions, and media.

The winners will be published in a special supplement of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ; Frankfurt General Newspaper), and the information will be available on the DNP's website and social media platforms starting from October 31, 2023.

The award acknowledges Schneider's forward-looking corporate philosophy. It will serve as motivation to continue pursuing it consistently:

“Thinking sustainably. Acting responsibly. Step by step.”

It guides Schneider like a compass in all its decisions: resource conservation, climate protection, waste reduction, energy efficiency, exclusive use of renewable energy, and more. Schneider is still the only writing instrument manufacturer to be certified at all its production sites according to the world's most demanding environmental management system EMAS (https://ec.europa.eu/) of the European Union, a certification held since 1998. Schneider was a pioneer in environmental protection and resource conservation at a time when many dismissed or smiled at these efforts.

The premium standard of EMAS includes the international environmental management standard ISO 14001, but goes far beyond it. EMAS is performance-oriented and requires continuous improvements from businesses, which are then verified by independent, government-approved environmental auditors. Additionally, the company must publish its environmental performance to the public in an environmental statement.

The 2024 German Sustainability Award is also a confirmation of Schneider’s years of dedicated and convincing sustainability work.

Schneider is acting, driving the sustainability of its products forward with innovative materials. Schneider doesn't make judgments based on quarters but thinks in terms of generations and takes responsibility for the future viability of its locations.
